Maya / Elbows and Knees

  • On the floor with knees in line with the hips at 90% & elbows in line with shoulders at 90%
  • You are on your forearms with palms down on the floor
  • Knees are not too close together or too far apart, they should be straight down from the hip
  • Feet flexed since you are not standing on them
  • DO NOT let yourself sink between the shoulder blades
  • Shoulder blades are apart without rounding the back.
  • Remember the 3 domes — of the top of the head in line with the respiratory diaphragm and
    the pelvic diaphragm
  • Eyes are glancing towards the knees just so you achieve a longer neck
  • But not a curled neck
  • You want to achieve a nice straight line .. through the body remember .. the “hose” analogy ;)
  • You should be able to breath well and then allow yourself to grow
  • When you breath don’t round the back .. maintain the line
