I remember being really frustrated and you telling me to get out of my head and just feel it.

Hi Trista, I wanted to just reach out and say thank you for teaching me something invaluable. When I took your course, I remember asking you “which muscles am I activating for this?” and trying to “anatomize” what I was doing until I could figure out how the poses and hypopressives worked. I remember being really frustrated and you telling me to get out of my head and just feel it. And then I remember the phrase “let it feel good” being said over and over throughout the course. I had never treated my patients with this approach prior to taking your course- I always used a very anatomy-based, educational approach, versus a “feel it”  kind of approach where patients can connect with their body and get out of their head. I don’t know if that sentence makes sense, but I wanted to let you know that you forever changed the way I treat some of my patients. I get so excited when I see them “feel” the movement in order to learn how to change their breathing and feel the automaticity of their deep core being activated.  It’s  nothing that they have to learn or remember in order to use throughout their life. Their body remembers what it feels like, and then they can always access that. I just had a great session with a patient who has experienced lots of trauma and doesn’t want me to touch her, which is hard for my pelvic floor therapy brain…. I find myself using a lot of your breathing techniques and modified poses, and it has been really fun. I hope you’re doing well, and know that you have given me an invaluable tool to use when treating my patients. Thank you!
